I wore this watch at my wedding (not on this strap, mind you). Several months after that I foolishly traded it for a watch I didn't even like all that much, just because I never wore it. Recently, I realized what a mistake that was, and got in touch with the person I traded it to (the venerable, gracious forum member and craftsmen, Meisturwork Machinen) to see if I could convince him to trade me back. He said he really liked this watch, but being the great guy that he is he was willing to work with me to reach an agreement on another trade. I ended up buying another watch (which he could have easily bought himself) to trade with him, and he gave me back my 288k, only having been serviced and wearing this killer Gunny Caitlin 5. As it sits on my wrist now, it's fast becoming my favorite watch I think.

I'm not letting this one go again.

MM is a stellar guy. That strap is tits on that watch! I have a custom Heroic on my 288 but I think I'll give Gunny a shout.

I've never really been one for the vintage, big chunky leather strap look, but once I put this on I was in love. It looks killer, and it's like wearing a pillow on your wrist!

That looks great! I love the 288 on a vintage looking strap! One of the best PAMs ever made IMO.

I liked the trade story too. I always thought you were crazy for trading that beauty. Glad to see you came to your senses. After all... It's your wedding watch.

Great pics in this thread and what a cool story... I'm getting married next May and need to decide what to wear on my wrist... Somehow I don't think my fiancee sees this decision as being on par with bridesmaid dresses or flowers though! :-( Cheers
