Need some help here RWI team, tried CTime for the first time and watch showed up DOA. Asked for a US based address for return and thay said I had to ship back to China. Well, it got seized in customs and now they are telling me I am out the money for the watch (Royal Oak 41mm 1017 ALYX 9SM SS APSF $508.00) plus the $66.00 it cost me to ship the watch. I am requesting the credit towards a new watch or a refund for the watch and shipping. Am I wrong? Should a trusted dealer on this site be responsible to get us a watch that works or provide a US based address for returns so we do not risk a loss such as this?

I see this in their policy as well.

Your parcel has been held up by customs via our recommended shipping method and we can refund you or send you a new parcel as discussed. Please note that shipping costs are non-refundable.

Note, I followed all of their rules. It seems to me I should receive a refund.

Lesson number 1: never, ever, not in a Million, Billion, Gazillion years ship a counterfeit watch back to China. If there's a problem with the movement, have it fixed in your own country and then see if the seller is willing to share the cost. Chalk it off as a lesson learned. Sorry, but that's the way it works.

OK OP, what are you up to? You said the same thing about Puretime so you have some explaining to do, we are not stupid.
Did he gain anything in the last one?

1. He received a watch that was broken and then shipped it back
2. It got held up in Chinese customs, and this went on for a few months, I'm not sure of the status of that package anymore, the thread isn't clear, did he receive it back?
3. They shipped him a replacement watch that got "delivered to the wrong address" and tripdog seemed pretty sure of it
4. The watch that got delivered to the wrong address eventually made it back to puretime (they didn't confirm this in the thread, but also didn't deny it, he stated this)
5. From the looks of it, he picked a new model, and hasn't complained, so that likely got delivered.

So did he really even gain anything? Did he get back the original broken watch? If so, maybe it's a scam where he "breaks" the watch, and the way he does it is by declaring the package as something that will obviously get seized and returned in customs, and he knows it will take awhile. If not, and to play devils advocate, doesn't he buy a lot of watches? Puretime didn't seem to refute this, and tripdog mentioned it. Maybe he's bought 10 in between those posts and this is just bad luck.

What doesn't make sense though is how this scam would work. He can't just send a rock to China and have it get seized in customs, can he? So presumably he is sending the broken watch, and he's declaring it as something dumb like "luxury watch"? Maybe he "breaks" the original watch, ships a cheap aliexpress watch so he takes zero risk, and gets it held up.

I promise you I am not scamming anyone, I am out the $508 for the watch and 66.00 for shipping, who is being scammed?

After my issue with Puretime, I looked to this forum to try a new Trusted dealer and the reviews have all been good with CTime so I decided to give it a shot. Watch was DOA and I got on Whatapp the day it arrived and we tried to identify issue. They are the one who said it needed to be returned. I just did what they asked.

I didn't gain anything from my Puretime experience and that is why I moved on. After sending back the watch and it getting seized, Puretime offered to discount a second watch 50% which I accepted, I never got the original broken watch return so at the end of the day, I paid 1.5 times for one watch. Don't see how this could be a scam.
