Hi Folks, I need a small measure of advice from the PAM experts in the room. I'm not a noob here, but it's the first time I've had a problem with a rep from a TD. (Actually, a very trusted TD). I bought a Z-Factory California from Sead, super-clone with the 72 hour movement in July. (call it 6 months). Rarely use it, wind it every few days. Suddenly I'm winding it and the spring slips, or sounds like it slips all the way to zero and now it just winds and winds infinitely. I've contacted the TD and asked him if there's anything he can do to help me out. Have not heard back yet but I'll give him a few days. I don't believe there's a bunch of trusted watch repair guys in this forum that would charge less than a small fortune to take apart the movement or replace the spring if it's broken. Funny thing is that it had occasionally sounded like the spring was slipping when I wound it but I ignored it. Now the spring has sprung and I'm just asking for a few ideas. Very grateful for anyone's thoughts.

I believe Sead offers a 1 year warranty.. I had a manual PAM from him that would stop running and he offered to have it fixed.. I ended up taking to a local guy to have him oil it and never had another issue..

I would suggest paying someone to look at it.. Shipping to sead, waiting for a repair and shipping back may take 2-4 months... little coin from your pockets may get this fixed in a week or two.

Sead is a good TD. He'll likely offer some type of help for your issue. However, you may be waiting more than a few days for a response from him, as the Chinese New Year is currently in full effect until around the 17th of the month---------> https://forum.replica-watch.info/vb...Year-2016-PLEASE-READ!?p=2611615#post-2611615

It sounds like the main spring came loose or possibly broke. It's not terribly difficult to fix in context to other issues. If you are Conus, you could contact Katt-----> https://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/forumdisplay.php/188-Katt-s-Watch-Repair. he maybe be able to help.

Wow. Every bit of your reply was amazing. I didn't know that Sead offered a 1 year warranty. Let's see if responds to my query. It's a manual wind, same as yours and I think you're absolutely right, main spring either broke or came loose. I'm in Sydney and I do know someone that will look at it but he's really expensive. There's another guy in Pennsylvania that does amazing work and he's very fair. It costs me nothing to just write to him. Anyway, thank you from the heart for this reply.

Katt has come through for me a few times and he's got a heart of gold. I'll write to him. Many thanks. I knew I could count on the PAM experts for understanding and a teaspoon of wisdom.

Wow! This is amazing news. Thank you for the photos and for the valuable information. I will work with my TD to get a replacement. I hope that my TD will honour his warranty. Very grateful.

I hope this works out for you! I had a watch where I heard something snap, and the watch kept winding without stop. I didn't feel like I over-wound it at all, so I was sure it was some sort of defect. You have to remember the TDs can be in a different timezone than you, so the replies can be delayed. However, I spoke to my TD and he helped me out and gave me a few options on how to fix or replace the problem -- happy camper!

I felt exactly the same way. I never over-wind. As soon as it begins to feel wound, I go slowly until there is no more play. I'm in Australia and the time difference to China is not so bad. My TD will get back to me after Chinese new year, hopefully. Thanks for your comments.

How do you contact Sead? I would like to buy a few CGs from him but just can't find his contact. Thank you!

Please understand that it would be impossible for any member to post a trusted dealer's contact details in the public forum. This is a tricky business and we direct you to the trusted dealers in the dealer section. Sead is one of the most reliable dealers (and I say this with a broken watch in the process of being replaced). He won't let you down and his products are first-rate.
