Hey guys,
I have been lurking on here and Reptime for awhile, and have only recently received my first watch. I thought I would share my experiences with reprepublic as well as my buying experience as a newbie.

Initially, I ordered a VSF Black Dial Seamaster 300 Heritage from Geektime. I was told that it would take two weeks to recieve. After the first week, I got the QC from Geektime for the wrong watch. (June 14th) It was the 007 spectre version, not the heritage, which is an understandable error; he said no problem - it will be another 2 weeks before the heritage comes in. I said no problem. After waiting, I checked in with him on two week intervals, each time he would say it should come in within the next couple days. Fast forward to July 20, the story is still the same from Geektime; the watch will come in a couple days. I asked for a refund (which took another 4 days) and began to seek out other vendors.

During this time, I posted on Reptime about my concern with Geektime, and this guy messaged me about John over at Rep republic. I started to do research on the guy, and there isn't too much out there, but I sent him a message and he seemed really genuine. He is also stateside, responded very quickly, but most of all, he was really transparent about everything. After going back and forth asking questions and verifying his information, I paid John on July 23rd. I received QC on the 24th, (which I GL) and had the watch in my hands with remarkably fast shipping on July 29th.

This is my post from reptime:

The watch looks great; I am super happy with my purchase. John did a fantastic job getting ahold of the watch immediately. He was able to get me the watch within a week, which is seriously remarkable considering I was waiting 6 weeks or so on Geektime with no real answers.

As far as the watch itself; it looks really nice; winds like butter nearly on par with my gen omega. The movement with the display back looks fantastic; no rotor noise with fantastic finishing. The bracelet is fine; it does not have the same extreme taper that the Gen has; but I don't really care, as I have replaced it with a leather strap. The dial is nearly perfect; the only difference I can tell between the gen dial and the VSF is the omega logo is printed on; whereas the GEN has the logo almost painted on? The paint is thicker; not the line weight, but the logo is a thick white. I don't know how to explain it, and no one would notice, but if you really get up on it you can see it. Once again, so small that you wont be able to tell. Finally the omnidirectional bezel feels really good, but not $6k watch good. Once again, I don't really fault VSF for this; it's not a 6k watch; which is why I'm gonna wear it all the time.

Also, in full transparency, John asked if I would be wiling to write a review about my experience with Rep Republic, and I said I would be happy to. I was not offered anything in exchange for this review; nor is it edited or approved by anyone.

Okay so wrapping this whole thing up: John at Rep Republic did a fantastic job, fast delivery, fast communication, better price, and full transparency. He did a great job getting me my watch and I cannot recommend him enough.

Good looking watch. I have a lot of vintage gen Omegas. I might need to look into this as well!

Interesting this one was so difficult for Geektime. I often see it mistaken for the Seamaster 300 Spectre version, but also vice versa.
A lot of the cheaper DHGate sellers mistake the Seamaster 300 Heritage for the Spectre (the opposite issue you had).

Interesting they are stateside. Is their stock here as well? Or does it get shipped from overseas?
