I'm amazed at the amount of replica watches on E-bay for sale as genuine. Worse yet, is all the people who are bidding on them and getting royally ripped off. There is an awful rep of a submariner that is bidding at over $4000!!! I guess it truely is "buyer beware" OR "a sucker born every minute"

$100 rep sold for $4000.... Maybe I should change professions!

The Breitling replicas are easily hawked as original, the breitling official website even mentions it. If you can find the original box and papers, people are pulling this scam really often.

Look you shouldn't be buying anything off Ebay anyway. I wouldn't waste the time reporting them because Ebay doesn't care. They won their court battle and are no longer responsible for what is being sold.

Right.. Ebay & Paypal are just waiting for your Item to sell so they can take their FEE and get a big chunk of those 4,000 so i doubt they care.

yup sounds like some of them want to get into that game themselves..
I personally would never buy any type of jewelry\watches from ebay
a person that drops 4,000 on a watch on ebay deserves to get scammed

No one ever deserves to be scammed, if the buyer does his homework and buys from a reliable seller then he probably made a pretty good deal than buying it somewhere else. I've seen watches sold for $40,000-$100,000 on eBay and since the seller is a reliable one the buyer got what he paid for at a good price. However if the buyer was dumb enough to buy from a seller with 1 positive score and that was from buying a $10 pair of sneakers, and the auction has pics of the watch from the AD catalog or really crappy pics, well... you know how it will go.

I agree. if buyers do their research there are some good and honest deals to be made on eBay. Some basic common sense applies.

buyer beware, i do tend to buy a few things here and there on ebay, but not thousand dollar items. i usually buy car parts that i cant find other places. usually a good spot for old used junk that other people will buy. but i dont get why people would spend over 1000 on any item before inspecting it or anything like that...

I concur, and wouldn't buy very expensive items on EBAY. In reference to seedy sellers - did you know that you can't even leave negative feedback anymore on EBAY?

I bought a Rolex GMT II on ebay 5 years ago, before I paid the dealer we went to the AD and they proofed that the watch was a gen.

At that time the waiting list for a GMT II was 12 month i´n Germany and on the bay I got it in 3 days.

I agree, i would not buy it and then have it send to me.
