Hello guys,
I bought a Omega Seamaster James Bond Automatic from Watcheden. Smooth shipping, everything went well. The crowns at 3 o'clock and 10 o'clock positions are extremely stiff, so I am unable to change date or time. Please advice me as to how to use those crowns?

Also, any of you know a rep watch repair shop in Miami or Fort Lauderdale area? That would be of great help. Thanks a lot.

Pic of watch or link to watch you bought please.
The 10:00 crown is the He valve and is for decoration only. Don't mess with it.
The 3:00 crown is to set time and date. Unscrew the crown until it "pops" out a bit (this is the hand-winding position). Pull slightly out 1 click is the date setting position. Pull out another click (all the way out) is the time setting position. Don't turn the hands anti-clockwise more than about 30 minutes - go clockwise if changing time more than that. Don't set the time when the watch is showing between 10pm and 3am. This is true with any automatic watch, whether rep or gen. First change the time to 5am-9pm, then change the date, then continue to set the time.

See my signature line below for help locating a watch smith.
Good luck!

You are turning it counter-clockwise, right? If so, you won't break it - just turn harder.
As for lubing it, it's easier after it's unscrewed. But you can try when it's screwed in. Take a toothpick and a bit of baby oil. Dip the toothpick in the baby oil, then dribble the end on the crown tube. WD40 will also work, but is messier and may irritate your skin as it leeches out.
Baby oil is also great for lubing the bracelet, for the same reasons. Soak the bracelet (not the watch) in baby oil overnight, then clean using warm water, liquid soap, and a well-used soft toothbrush.

WD40 will also ruin the o-ring if it gets on it.
Oh, yeah - good point. I forgot about that.
I'm pretty sure baby oil will not hurt the o-ring. Anybody have more definitive information on this hypothesis?

If in doubt, try to squeeze a little Astro-Glide in there! If it won't destroy latex condoms, I bet the o-ring will be quite safe. Just don't blame me if you get a little chubby every time you wear the watch!! ;-)

Great info guys. I tried baby oil with toothpick, and guess what, it worked :D
Now another question...where can I get a pretty good leather strap? I want to replace the SS bracelet with a leather one.
