Just got my first replica as a gift. It's an AP Automatic Royal Oak H 57475 rose gold. Don't know too much about watches but it seems of good quality. It's quite heavy and I've lightly banged it on the metal gate a good 20 or so times and no scratches on the crystal or ding marks on the case. I was told it was an automatic so I took the back off to see what kind of movement was in there and it wasn't automatic at all. It has a VK63A battery powered movement.

This isn't what is supposed to be in there is it?

I don´t understand the question? The movement is supposed to be whatever it is presented as. If you got a quartz, but the giver bought an automatic then you´re right.

That's what I thought. Glad I opened it up. Also found out it doesn't have any type of seal between the back and the case so guess it's not water resistant either.

Was it sold to you as an automatic movement? If so you have a legitimate complaint. Where did you buy it?

Purchased as an automatic in Cambodia from my cousin's friends Facebook shop. Recently in the last year here the replica watch quality got A LOT better. So when my girlfriend asked what I wanted for valentine's day I said an automatic and she came back with and AP Royal Oak. I was so happy. She told me it was automatic and so I took the back off and bam VK63A quartz movement.

This is how you spot a quartz? Take a look at the seconds hand. If not a a tuning-fork movement the Quartz seconds hand will make one move per second whereas the automatic second hand will (besides from a new JLC automatic movement designed to make one move per second) depending on the beat make five or six moves per second.

Well that's good to know. I'll make sure to remember that. I don't know too much about watches. I'm literally a month into learning about watches so if I sound like a noob it's cuz I'm as fresh as they get.

Thanks for the info on that tho...that will make it way easier for me to spot it. Much appreciated!!!!!!!!
