Replacing a 47mm dome crystal

I'm planning to switch the SF 629 crystal with blue AR to a KW 617 low distortion crystal. Little did I know I'd also paid for the bezel. TD suggests it's easier to pop the bezel off with a blade and replace the whole thing. That sounds like trouble to me, especially with DLC. Hope the DLC is the same colour for a start. Anyone have experience with this kind of thing?

That's not the end result. The last pic is the 629 as it is now with the SF crystal which has blue AR. That crystal is coming off and being replaced with the KW one in the first couple of pics. Sorry, I should've been clearer. I'll edit.
