Replacement 7750 for IWC - will it fit?

I have an older IWC rep, I believe it's the ref. 3717 which has a smaller case size than its successor (42mm). The 7750 has gone wonky, as they do, and getting it serviced costs more than it's worth.
I inquired with a TD about a replacement movement that would have the same subdial & day/date layout and he recommended the 7750 from a ZF Ref. 3777. I know the case size is larger on that watch but I'm assuming the movement is the same size. Prior to purchasing I wanted to inquire for those in the know whether this would slot in and be as simple as a dial and hand installation on the new 7750. I've attached some pics of my movement plus the new one from the sales link at Trusty.
Thanks in advance for your knowledge.

Yes, same movement with running seconds at 9-o-clock. Dial is a straight swap, as well as date and day wheels (they have different font)
Hands should be a straight fit too although with asian 7750s surprises might happen.

Not sure how much they quoted you for the asian movement alone but if your 3717 is a keeper, have you considered upgrading to a swiss 7750?

@pippo THANKS for the rapid reply. Yes, I love this reference, it's the perfect size and simplicity for an IWC Chrono.
They quoted $278 shipped for the Asian movement. I would consider upgrading to a Swiss but I'm not sure how to shop for one at that exact layout and how much of a price increase it would be. I do like that the rep movement now has a decorated rotor but no one will ever see it and it will probably shit the bed in 5 years just like the old one did.
Any ideas of where to source the correct Swiss movement along with price? Very much appreciated...

Hi there!

I assume 278 USD is the price for the 3777 IWC powered by that movement.
A spare asian 7750 shouldn't cost that much.

As for the swiss movement, I believe you can find some for sale here on RWI too.

Otherwise I usually buy movements on Ebay.
Just make sure it's in good condition with seconds at 9oclock subdial. Ideally ask a timegraph report if not sold as brand new.

Forgot to mention, hands are not a straight fit, not the central sweeping chrono hand and the subdials' hands.

Genuine ETA 7750 all variants (all)

Hour 2.00mm
Minute 1.20mm
Center Seconds 0.25mm
Subdials 0.17mm

New Asian 7750 (28,800 BPH) Normal ones - NOT the Daytona model (don't have one to measure)

Hour 2.00mm
Minute 1.20mm
Center Seconds 0.20mm
Subdial 0.20mm

I truly appreciate you taking the time and thank you for the references. That quoted price was for the movement only and I agree it was high, it's only $100 less than the entire ZF watch. Given my fondness for this piece a Swiss upgrade would make more sense but now I need to find a watchsmith who could competently do the necessary modifications to make the hands fit on a Swiss movement.
