Replace Crown/Tube on PO 42mm

Hi Everyone

I'm in the process of purchasing a 42mm PO from Perfect Clones. A this is my 1st rep I've decided to go with the cheaper version which has the Asian 4813 movement.

I'm going to replace the crown & tube with the following parts from Cousins:

Crown - 069ST42184
Tube - 090ST1232

Will I also need to replace the stem that attaches to the Crown? If so can someone let me know what part number I require & if it will fit with my rep.

Is there a how to n how to remove case / movement? Is this something a complete newbie should be attempting?

You can heaten the old crown then take on a glove and unscrew it from the stem. Then apply little loctite before screwing on the gen crown. Gen stem will not fit 21j movement.

I don't think this will work. I think the case is different on a 2813 or 4813. Also the stem tap size will not fit a gen crown. My suggestion would be to sell this one and buy the 2824 version.

Can someone confirm (no offence Tracy) that the above is correct in that I cannot use the existing stem with a gen crown?

Your problem will come when the gen tube adds length thus making your stem too short. (That's what she said.) So now you need a new stem, stem extender and or adapter should the taps not be compatible.

No offense taken. The gen tube may not even fit in the hole on these type cases. But I'm not 100% sure. Try it and be sure to let us know if it worked.

True the rep tube need to be modded and attached to the case before the gen tube can be installed.

Look at this i made it a few month back, there is one pic of the tube mod.
