Hi guys,
was wondering if anyone here has ever ordered a rep with a genuine swiss movement from a trusted dealer. Tswatch.club website has a movement section where he has genuine movements for sale such as the swiss ETA 2824-2 (308 $).

does the TD in this case then insert the movement into the rep you order themselves prior to shipping it out, or does the customer order both seperately and get it done through a third party?

anyone ever order a rep with a genuine movement to begin with?

thanks

I think that if you choose the movement from the movements section the movement comes separately..but of course you can contact the TD and ask him if y ou have something in mind..Although you should know that Asian 2824-2 is reliable too and works like a charm..

thanks! will do.

also would you happen to know if replacing the movement on the watch requires a high level of skill by watch maker or if it would be easily done by the same guys who service these watches.

For someone who is into watches i think it would be easy but of course i dont do it myself so i may be wrong...but logically if it is his profession and you know that he will work on a rep then there is no reason why he couldnt..The best scenario would be if you mail the TD and ask him if they can do it there so you receive your watch ready

Speaking very generally: the problem often is not the parts themselves, it´s the assembly conditions and the attention (or lack of) given to detail: positioning of dial and datewheel, dust, lint, fingerprints etc.
Get the asian version. Later- if You´re not happy - get new parts locally and have them assembled by a watchmaker or modder.

cant argue with logic, i'll do that! i've heard from quite a few sources on these forums now that the Asian version is reliable/trouble-free.

thanks again guys.

I do not recommend you to replace movement with ETA as it does not change much when you wear the watch. No one is gonna see the back and people normally don't care this. Asian movement is quite reliable for daily using. Save $$$ for gen in the future because that is the way you go.
