Does anyone make rep parts better than the factories i could get or are the factories the best next to gen parts? Also needing someone in cotus that can do some work on my reps.

There actually is a wide range of producers and supplier of aftermarket rep parts that offer significant improvements, such as for example "Deep crystals" or "Xing Bezels", plus an entire service eco system of modders for hire.

Depending on what you're looking for, it should be not too difficult to investigate and research. I believe there are specific replica forums which are really incredible knowledge bases for info regarding rep improvements.

I remember one... 3 letters... Starts with R, ends with I? Or so... Hmmm, can't remember. Getting old, I guess. 😝

By the way, you were already told on several occasions that repeatedly asking the same very broad questions (which are impossible to answer without your questions being a little more specific) again and again is kinda frowned upon here...

I'd kindly like to remind you of that and at the same encourage you to read more, even though you said you have no interest in "going through hundreds of pages".

You actually don't have to do that, as luckily there are search engines which can do the going-through for you —if you tell them what you're looking for, that is.

How was this a similar question? Also how was it broad?? It didn't seem like you had trouble answering the question?

You opened several threads already asking almost the same thing.

Also how was it broad??

Well, by repeatedly asking the same question(s), it seems that you weren't happy with the answers given. But @tripdog's response is pretty much the best one can give to a rather broad question such as "does rep modding as a thing exist". Apparently you want someone to compile a full list of suppliers, vendors and modders of any imaginable modification for you, while you only put in 30 seconds of your valuable time? Well, as you can see, nobody has any interest in doing this... If you want useful responses, you will have to put in at least a little bit of reading / research and then come back with a more specific / precise question, like "I've been looking at a crystal from XYZ. Will I need new gaskets to install it or can I reuse the stock ones?".

There are thousands of watches with each watch having parrs from bracelets to bezels to crowns to crystals. Not to mention the minefield that js vintage. So yes, this is a broad question.

Are you talking Rolex? If so what model? Submarimer? Daytona? Yachtmaster? GMT? Which generation? Which variant of these watches? Which year produced?

The only similar part was where I asked if anyone knew anyone in cotus to do service. Otherwise this was a completely different question. I have put much more than "30 seconds" of my time into looking for someone and have messaged 3 people but to no avail. I never asked for anyone to compile a list for me. I have not asked you specifically to answer any of my questions, so I'm not sure why you have such a hard on for making sarcastic reply's, either way it doesn't bother me. If you don't like my questions then you don't have to respond to them.

Have you considered that new members may not even know which is the right question to ask? We cant know what we don't know.

Depending on what you're looking for, it should be not too difficult to investigate and research. I believe there are specific replica forums which are really incredible knowledge bases for info regarding rep improvements.

Furthermore the statement made above doesn't actually provide any help. Someone could say the same about a library, but looking through thousands of books is incredibly challenging without the help from a librarian. Yes, I could Google it (and have), but that doesn't always help with what I'm looking for and even if it did, I cant know what I don't know, so finding an answer can be challenging.

Either you want to help new guys or you don't. I supported this forum because I appreciate the people who run it and would like to continue to see its success. But so far all I've seen is its members make it hard for newcomers to get a good start with reps because they'd rather give a sarcastic reply, or "flame" someone. Anyone who is new at anything will ask repetitive/dumb questions, its the nature of being new to something. So if you don't like working with newcomers, then don't. Anyways I'll shut up now.

@MikeHunt4244 ,
Let’s try this again. Which parts are you looking for? For what brand(s) of watch? A bit hard to answer this as it is vague but…

General answer is NO, the best parts available go in this pecking order : Gen>established factories>the rest of the crowd. This applies to movements as well as other parts in general. Some exceptions may apply where vintage and custom CNC cases and dials are concerned (look up Viet parts providers).

In terms of what I assume is CONUS (COTUS?) have a look at the trusted service providers list over here (listed clearly on the main page with a big header ). https://forum.replica-watch.info/categories/service-and-parts-providers.10835951/.

Hope that helps

@MikeHunt4244 first of all, make no mistake, your financial contribution is much appreciated.

Secondly, a little bit of sarcasm isn't the end of the world. Everyone here gets their dose, regardless of status, membership length or something like that. Ask @GingerBubba.

Thirdly, as mods, we have a variety of duties. One of them is keeping the threads, especially the ones that are about technical stuff, as tidy as possible. That's why repetitive threads that lead to no substantive content are to be avoided.

You don't need to "shut up". In fact, you should do the opposite. Read the room a little, get a gist of the culture here, you'll navigate this space well after a while, I think. You seem quite smart and clever. I think you have serious potential... You just need to read (research) a little more. 😆😉

Specifically I'm looking for 126710 and 126610 parts and service, and yes I've been to the service providers list and have reached out to three of them but haven't gotten any responses yet. Another guy who I bought a rep from on here said he had a guy so I was honestly hoping someone on here had a guy/gal that maybe wasn't on the list.

Well, you should know that, while there are a lot of people offering such services, apparently there aren't enough modders to satisfy all demand in a timely fashion .... Therefore, most folks are backlogged until Armageddon, it seems. The better they are, the more work they get. So be prepared to wait quite a while (a couple of months or even a year is not that far fetched), especially when commissioning a larger project with someone who has a high-profile reputation.
