Hi guys,

Just received my PAM 359 from Sead today in the mail and as exited as I was, something is not right (at least to me it isn't).

The rotor at the back does not seem to be spinning. Is this normal for the PAM 359 (I've got the V2 Seagull ST2555 by KW btw)? If its not, is there a quick fix to it instead of sending the watch back to sead?

Really hope you guys could help out a noob here.

Cheers

Deffo should spin, has it been dislodged in shipping?

I think they are glued on, so fairly easily damaged with a shock

No idea but it was packed pretty tightly with bubble wraps and a styrofoam case.
Mehh, anyway for me to fix this myself? Really don't wanna wait for another 2 weeks for sead to send another one in.

Some pics would help. Does the rotor look twisted, or is the whole mechanism jammed?

I'd like to take some pics but unfortunately its night here and I don't have a good quality camera and lighting that would properly show the issue.

Upon closer inspection I think I see the problem. Theres a tiny blue screw between the 5-6 o'clock position (if you look backwards) that came off and is stuck at the end of the rotor, jamming it and not allowing it to rotate.

Is this a bigger prob than expected and if so, what should I do about it?

hey mate, i would just suggest waiting until the morning to take a picture so the experts here can help you better. just take a breather for now, dont try anything rash and hopefully the problem is an easy fix. Best of luck!

I got the same watch from sead as well. Like everyone said, leave the watch alone and wait for the members to chime in after seeing your pics.

Make Sead aware you have a problem straight away but also tell him your gonna try and sort it before you want him to take any action. Just so your not telling him there's a problem after you've worn it

Hey guys, just a quick update:

The rotor is finally rotating when I gave the watch a good shake. The tiny blue loose screw came off the end of the rotor which had jammed it initially, causing it to stop rotating. When I did that, that tiny screw was flying around everywhere inside the watch and eventually flew into the balance wheel (I think that's what its called) that caused the whole watch to completely stop ticking. I manged to YouTube some tutorial on how to open the caseback with a rubber stress ball-ish and took out the loose screw that was flying around inside the watch. The watch is now working fine due to me ignoring all your advice :p Now I just hope that the tiny little blue screw is not something that is important for the watch to work or even worst, keeping the whole thing together.

Sead has been great with me throughout the whole process and for allowing me to use PP even though this is my 1st rep purchase - I've been told that its a risk for TD's to allow noobs to pay with PP so I'd figured I owed him that much to not bother him with a return or exchange if I could actually fix it myself. Just praying hard that this won't come and bit me in the future :calm:. Overall this has been a mixed experience for me. I can't really fault Sead for what happened as its likely that the tiny little screw was already loose when he received the watch but just didn't got stuck at the end of the rotor to cause it to stop rotating. But at the end of the day, I managed to fix the problem (not bad for a noob :p) and now I have a nice PAM359 on my wrist which I just can't get my eyes off it! :D

Screw In balance wheel?? That's a disaster. Please check and see if your balance wheel has been bent out of shape!

It really sounds worst than it should be. The screw that got loose is microscopic and from what I could tell after 2 days with the watch that it's still keeping time well so I guess it should be alright?
