I've been praying for a good rep of this. It honestly doesn't even look that difficult to replicate either. They don't even need to AR the crystal!
The Top Time rep might well be a barometer of where the next rep will come from and given the high regard for the 806 from multiple gen brand forums, we can hope to see it?

Just to revive an old thread as i have been looking and hoping for a rep of this one for a while. The gen is a little out of reach for now haha!

I have not found much in the way of reps for these however a friend of mine is holidaying in Turkey atm and found this in a local mall there.

As tempted as i am, i am not going to say yes to him to get me this one its up for sale at 170 odd Euros, its a Quartz and he said the quality/finishing isn't great and if you look at the bezel and 6 o clock dials the detailing isn't accurate. It's almost like they used the bezel from a normal navitimer or something... at a cheaper price id probably give this a try to scratch the itch.

He didn't think the quality justified the price tag on this one unfortunately but i guess it does give me hope that i might be able to find something out there....

I had a GEN 809 (the Navitimer Cosmonaute) that I bought around 2014 for $1,1000. I sold it in 2016 for $1,850 on eBay because the heavily patinated/faded 24-hour dial threw me off. One of the watches I wish I had kept . . .

Now this does give me hope that it's on the rep makers radar. If the quartz sell well, maybe that is the barometer they need to commission the mechanical version.

However, I asked a cartel TD a few weeks ago about this and they said there are no plans. Although he said the same years ago about not relaunching a top quality A23xxx navitimer... And then months later cartel/BP came out with that one.

This is something that gives me hope but not to much as I think it’s to niche!

Then again it likely is that way due to the cost and limited availability of the original!

I don’t know if the reps in Turkey are made there or if they are made in China (most likely) and even as a quartz rep it wasnt the best even the slide rule bezel was from a normal navitimer and not the correct one for the 1959 806.

I’m not even bothered about the rep being an auto because as a chrono you won’t really be able to tell to much anyway for me more than anything it will be the quality and look and feel and how it wears!

I think the other possibility is building a franken but to is would likely be tricky and costly!

This is one watch I really do want to own the gen and I came close a couple of years ago just wasn’t able to get the discount I wanted back then!

Yes it was one i never could stop thinking about no matter how much i tried. For me it was the one i wanted the most and just was patient and by luck came across and managed to buy this one! IT was a good deal and i sold a few pieces from the collection to fund it but it was the right choice and have no regrets at all!
