Hi guys,

First purchase of Rep Daytona 116500LN Clean Factory and I noticed the six o'clock dial is not perfectly aligned other than that very happy with the watch and no issue whatsoever.

The gap between the "swiss made" writing is not exactly the same.

Is it possible to fix to reposition the six o'clock dot by like very tiny bit to the left and who would be able to do that?

Any input would be very much appreciated

Thanks

You my friend have a unique one off dial … it’ll be worth a fortune like the APH dials 😂. Personally I’d market that as a bonus .

But yeah it’s a little off to the side, I’m sure a modder could remove and reposition it for you. Not sure about any local ones to you, but plenty in EU if you needed to send….. if you are going to open the case anyway you could just do a complete dial swap ….. BTF black dial going for $100 on the parts sales forum as example

Hey,

Thanks for your reply.

I read that Clean Factory V3 has the best dial in the market for this watch which mine is however I believe I must be one of the unlucky ones.

Where can you buy a new clean factory v3 dial from - can you buy from TD?
And in your knowledge experience, is it a lot of work to involve in changing them?

Thanks

To be 100% honest, the risk of damage to the dial far outweighs any minute improvement in position you would get from having the indice reseated.
Yes that make sense.
What about swapping the dial to a new one is this an option to do?

Of course it's a valid option. Question is how much do you want to spend going down this rabbit hole for what is a truly minor flaw. You can swap it for any other 4130 movement replica or if you can find a genuine dial you can install a genuine dial. You can also consider installing a genuine handset while you're at it. Since it's out being worked on you can consider having the movement service as well. The list goes on and on.

I remember you. We helped to QC this watch last month.

I still think this is absolutely nothing.

This is within the range of minor misalignments of genuine Rolex watches.

Look at this Rolex crown logo on a gen Daytona:

To be honest, I'd prefer a crooked 6 hour marker over a crooked Rolex crown. 😂

This is replica watch that costs 3% of its gen counterpart. You can't expect perfection. I have an IWC pilot watch from ZF that has a 6 hour marker that stands as straight as massively shit faced junior sailor who just lost his virginity to a 300lbs hooker, but I don't care and don't worry about it and just wear it. 🙄 Because it's a $360 rep, not a $8000 gen. Ffs 🤦

Of course not.

This is madness that has to stop. Glad the OP greenlighted it, but eventually him coming back again, worrying about it demonstrates that we all need to suppress our OCD urges, or reps will cost 2 or 3k in a couple of years if we keep rejecting watches for super minor flaws. Thank you, Reddit, btw. 🙄🤦

It's not like the crooked 6 hr marker on my IWC ZF didn't annoy me in the beginning (I bought it M2M last year and didn't notice at first). But then I put my big boy pants on and reality-checked myself by looking at the gen price and at what I paid and I realized that obsessing over a minor flaw that you only see if you stare at it as if you're in a catatonic state isn't worth ruining the fun with this rep and I just accepted it as part of the rep game. And besides, I found gen IWCs online with all sorts of misalignments. So much for the "perfect gens".

I have other reps that are perfect. And this IWC with its tiny little flaw let's me appreciate the absolutely perfect ones even more. 😄

Fair enough.

Yes I think I am just being too fussy and to be fair by looking at the watch on my wrist again, I can't hardly see it unless if you look at it very closely 😀

I will leave it as it is and just enjoy the watch👍

No, your OCD will catch up with you again, eventually —at some point. I know, because it does with me too. 😆

But it will actually get better over time and you may even learn to appreciate your perfect reps more and find your peace with the imperfect ones. 😉

There's something that helped me a lot. I'm a huge fan of Japanese culture. Reading up on the concept of "Wabi-Sabi" made me even appreciate imperfections! It's, in simple terms, a philosophy about the acceptance of imperfections... Very interesting.
