Hello

I would like to darken the rep Asso strap that came with my 111.
Since I don't have any leather oil on hand can i use Vaseline instead?

Thank you
Jay

In general best is a good leather conditioner/wax from Pecards or Lexol. I have no idea about Vaseline, but read that non-adequate oils will ruin the strap. Try some google searches about the specific type of leather before doing that.

I would NOT use Vasoline. A leather conditioner is the best. Pecards, Lexol, etc.

Now this is an old trick, but it works quite well. At the end of the day, if you are like pretty much any human, your nose and forehead (t-zone) will have oils on them. Simply take your finger and rub the oils off your face and apply to the strap. It might take a couple days, but it will work. I know this sounds weird and silly, but it works. It's MUCH better than vasoline and it's your own oils for free!

That is the better choice, but seriously don't knock the face oils till you have tried it.

Try using olive oil

DO NOT use olive oil. I don't know who started this myth, rumor, etc. but olive oil is in no way good for leather.

Necro post, but I wanted to thank you for that amazing tip. In less than 5 minutes my rep Asso looks gen! I wrote a review of the rep Asso on RG--I'll update it and give you credit.

Asso straps will get darker with time on their own.
can you please post pic of that strap before and after forehead sweat treatment.
