Removing/setting hands

Can I just use my tweezers - (#2 or #5's) to remove the hands from the dial and also to reattach them? (I know to protect the dial) Is this a decent way of doing them. I just bought a lot of tools/movements and would rather not have to spend another $30 on these types of tools if they are not necessary. Also, how do you set the hands(sec, min, hours)? Attach them all at "12"??
