Removing Pelagos bezel insert?

I'd like to remove the bezel insert on my Pelagos to try reluming it. Anyone have ideas on how to do this? Ideally I'd like to avoid removing the entire bezel.

Are they glued on? I was thinking of trying to find a metal ring of the appropriate size, heating it with a torch, then laying it on the ceramic insert to evenly heat it and melt the glue. It seems there would be less risk of cracking this way than heating one small part at a time. I could lathe it to match the angle of the insert, but I don't know what that angle is.

Anyone done this?

I know it's a bit long since the OP, but did you figure out how to remove the insert/ bezel at the end?
