removing a crystal...

How would one remove a crystal without specialized tools?

I have a rep RXW MM20, which i want to remove the shitty crystal out of and put in a DSN tall plexi. (I am converting it into a vintage piece)

Should I push it out with my fingers, or is there some other way.

I would invest in a crystal press...

You can Ebay a cheapie press, or maybe find a sympathetic local watchmaker, who can pop one in and out faster that you can believe. I don't recommend using your fingers.

Just push it out using your thumbs and then snap the new one back in using the palm of your hand , I have done it this way for years !
Just make sure that the nylon sleeve that the crystal sits in is in straight before you put it back in
