Of course the top is Swiss ETA, but I know clone Eta aren not bad and Asia 21J are not bad too. I wonder to know what is the difference in term of reliability between Asia 21J and clone ETA (2824 or 2836).

21Js (whichever version) can be very reliable (I have several and they've been completely trouble-free), but they tend to be a little less consistent than the clone ETA movements. The best reason to buy a so-called clone ETA, however, is that they're high-beat 28,800 vph like most gens rather than low-beat 21,600vph, meaning that the second hand will have a smoother sweep

Reliability and timekeeping are not predacted on the movement but rather how the movement is maintained. you can have the fastest most expensive movement on the planet. But if it isn't regulated or serviced the end result is major suckage.

I like the value of the 21j's - my GMT and 300m are within a few seconds a day and run great. If they ever crap out I'll just replace them with another 21j - no problem. I don't worry about the 5 ticks vrs 8 ticks per second. I like the idea of getting the most bang for the buck. At the point you're going to spend several hundred dollars on a watch just get the gen - at some point the value shifts and buying the gen becomes the better value.

Just my $.02

This answered a lot of questions for me. Thanks. I was wondering what a 21j meant rather than a clone. I think I got the answer.
