Reinstalling the movement in a 111 - movement holders

I've spent at least six hours trying to get the last movement holder and screw in place. Any suggestions, tips, secrets? I have larger-than-average hands and fingers and I have a bit of a tremor when trying to do anything that requires fine motor skills.
I only took one of them out, so I only have to put one back. I'm going to mail it to someone if I can't get it done, but naturally I'd like to do it myself. I'm afraid if I keep trying I'm going to lose the parts. There were several times last night when I held my breath while looking for where the screw or the holder tab shot off to.

Slacken the one that you haven't touched slighty, this will give you a bit more leeway with refitting the one you've removed.
I use a bit of rodico on the end of a toothpick to position the screw/holder. It can be fiddly but if you persevere you'll crack it in the end...

So Anopsis, you can hit a target at 1500 yards with that rifle and you can't even put a little screw in a hole. Actually, I had the hardest time at first. Now it seems easy. Like Scone said, loosen the other a tad to take the pressure off it. Once you get the holder in the right position, getting the screw in isn't too difficult.

Rodico is the way to go for sure.

My first attempt, it took me longer to put that last screw in than it did to reassemble the whole movement.

No Rodico here, so I'll have to order it. I tried using poster putty to no avail. I have non-magnetic tweezers but the right size screwdriver has a bit of magnatism. Not enough to hold the screw, just enough to screw it up!

Unless I'm missing something, this is the most brilliant thing I have ever heard. :D I'm going to try it.

If you don't have rodico, go to the dollar store & get some sticky tack. Works just as well.

Are you using tweezers?

Also.. ALSO... if you have screwed the other side in all the way it will be tipped down on the screwed down side preventing the retainer clip from inserting into the case ridge. Unscrew that side a little bit, push the movement down on the unscrewed side, use tweezers to insert the holder into the ridge.. then you'll be ok.

If you dont understand what I'm saying I can call you, email me your number (US only)

I tried this reusable putty (yellow, comes in strips)

Yes, I loosened the tab on the other side. I'll try a few of these things and if I can't get anywhere with it I just might take you up on the call. Thank you all very much for your assistance!

There is a trick to it for easy fit.

This is what I usally do:
1. using tweetzer to place the tab to the ridge in place. (U may want to push down the movement so it is easier to insert the tab in the right place.

2. Using tweetzer to place the tiny screw to the hole, stand the screw up and use the same tweetzer to rotate the screw a few rounds ,it will be easier to screw in using the right size screw driver. ( 1.0mm )

to loosen one screw is a very good way for easier for the loose screw to sit better.

Hope this will help. Enjoy the 1st try, you will become an expert.

Now I have gone from 6 hours invested to 10 and I'm no closer. I'm afraid it's just not possible for me, as my hands shake too much when I try to do something intricate. :(
Now the screw head is all scratched up and I'm just really kinda' depressed over the whole thing. This was going to be a simple clean-the-back-of-the-crystal job and the toll so far is the letters are gone from the back of the movement and this screw looks terrible.

Check this out to see what I mean. It's about one minute long. Watch it and then multiply it by 600.

For a start those tweezers are too big, I use AS5's for intricate stuff.

Is positioning the holder your biggest problem? If it is get yourself 2 wooden toothpicks. Put the holder over one of them. Get it roughly over where you want to position it and jockey it in using the other one.

Then put some pressure on the movement as close to the holder as possible by pushing down on the movement itself with a toothpick.

Using the other toothpick with a bit of rodico/blu-tac on it's tip, press the screw head onto it, this should hold it firmly in position. Then place the screw in position and try to turn it to get the screw to 'bite'.

Still keeping pressure on the movement, screw it in using the appropriate sized screwdriver.

Don't let this 0.05c screw beat you, they are fiddly but you'll get there in the end...

I wish this was the only problem. I have more video of the screw sitting in the hole but I can't get it started. :)
It seems like the hole in the tab doesn't perfectly line up with the screwhole in the movement; the screw always wants to kick sideways in the same direction. It may be a 5¢ screw but my 10 hours invested tell another story!
I'm ready to ship it off to someone else to put this !@#$ screw in.

EDIT: I have some smaller tweezers but they seem to have a slight magnatism. Since they're smaller I have an even harder time trying to pick up or control the part, anyway.

2 more suggestions (other than smaller tweezers for sure)...

1. Walk away. Sometimes, you come back to it & it just goes in.
2. Jack Daniels! Just enough to stop the shaky hands :D
