Red handed arrow on the Navitimer World 45mm - what is it?

As you have guessed I am a bit of a Breitling virgin.

I've just bought a Navitimer World and am loving its work.

Can't work out what the hand with the red arrow at the end is for though (at 10pm on the image). It's obviously not part of the chrono and is moved by the crown, although sometime it moves with the hours and minutes (probably not supposed to do that?)

Could some wise sage put me out of my misery - I've searched the web to no avail and I know its such a simple question.

Thanks

Tom

Its a GMT hand for you to set your watch to real GMT time. Or you could use it as a 24 hour hand setting. Some people like to set it to the time where their familes are.

GMT is Greenwich mean Time. All timezones are derived from this time.
