Hi,
I am thinking of getting one of these: PAM 202A MM (PVD), 009 Base (PVD), 004 (PVD) & 000 Base Logo. Need some advice on who makes a better quality ones i.e. in terms of design that's close to the gen ones & reliability.

Wow, you've picked some fine watches, there. I'd love to help you, but you're gonna have to give me some more information here. What is your budget? Are you willing to watch and wait for something to come up for sale on the 2nd hand market?

Davidson........go to the dealer section and scroll through Davisdon's section. He will have all of these for you to look at. His pvd coating is excellent, and you get a serviced watch. If you don't want to pay his prices, it will at least give you a very good starting point.

If you DO go the Davidsen route, please make sure he sends you pictures of the watch before he ships it and make sure to request one of the "standard" rep cases and not "his" rep case. A lot of his own rep cases have been showing up with the holes for the crown tubes drilled so far near the face/dial side of the watch that there was actually a notch missing from the flat surface of the front of the case near the crown/CG.

His PVD is really good, the best available from any of the dealers, but it will need to be polished with a cape cod cloth a bunch to make it closer in appearance to the real Panerai PVD.

Thanks for all your replies & advice. I'll check on DSN for the prices & will ask for the "standard" cases.

good to know about DSN's case options, his cases are a little bit thicker than a standard rep case. I've found that the standard rep case are closer to a gen.
