Hello,
Looking for opinions of the forums for a 1st rep PAM. Have had a few rep rolys that have fallen apart. So looking to get another one, as well as branch out to PAMs.

Any suggestions for a first rep to get?

All depends on your taste, so take a look at the many different iterations of the Panerai style and find what you like.

Some standard reps to get are the Noob 005, 111, 390 and KW 411-417

Two things to consider are:
1) Size: a 44mm PAM might be the biggest your wrist can boast, some PAMs are 47mm.
2) Winding: The majority of PAM reps must be hand wound every couple of days. There are several models of automatic movement PAMs though.

Depends what you're more into here is how I would break it down:

- historic or modern?
- black or textured or tobacco dial?
- hand wound or automatic?
- 44 or 47mm?
- Destro?
- Bettarini, 1940 or 1950 case?

Me personally this would be my choices

44mm PAM's

- historic: 000, 005, 111, 112, 390 (Noob)
- modern: 312, 351 (V6F), 243 (HF)

47mm PAM's

- historic: 127 (V6F), 372 (SF)
- modern: 569, 364 (V6F)

Hope this helps and good luck on your first PAM !! As stated above ALE's guide might come in handy ;)

I would go to some watch store that carries pams and try some and buy the rep of the one u like the most . Almost every replica i bought ..was that way .. and it is a double win cause that way u can compare the quality ... i tried a tag calibre 17 rs2 and the replica was garbage so i sold it ... i tried a pam 104 .. loved it and bought a noob 104 and i could not tell any quality difference ...so i kept it till today

As you can see I have a skinny wrist.
However, like the above post, I also have a Noob Pam 104 and found it indistinguishable from the real one that my friend has. It is automatic too, no need to wind it every couple of days. I would recommend the Noob 104 version N or O as a super rep, the O being the most accurate up to date one.

The Pam 312 is gorgeous too, check out this thread about it:
