Ok guys. I'm about to buy my first pam and I need to know how noticeable the recessed cannon pinion is in real life. Is it a big deal? Does it stand out? I am a detail FREAK and I am worried about dropping a large sum of cash on a rep that will drive me nuts.

Thanks a bunch!

Hi Alf, I'm no expert but I think it depends on the model of the watch and the dealer. I purchased an Arktos 092 from Trusty and mine is lined up perfectly but I've seen other models from other dealers and it was very noticeable in the photos. It's my understanding that's one of the easiest ways to spot a fake PAM. I have a PAM 195 coming from Davidsen and after reading many posts the consensus is that his Pams are the best .

Very true! I actually have a PM out to him right now. Does anyone know what models he offers? I am interested in base or marina models. Not a big PVD fan though.

You can get a 201a logo, which is a base model. You can see pix in Davud'sc section in the Dealers forum.
Waiting for mine as we speak.

the other option is to fix any recess on a desired model. That takes a bit more effort, but now you can buy the whole correct movement, which isn't a hard swap. Again Davidsen is selling the CN 6497/2 with tall canons/subsecond, the movement is really nice and sports a 60 hr power reserve. Buy the model you want and motor it with that, you're home and hosed.

Supherb solution......agreed totally.
