I placed an order with Andrew and co. at the dawn of CNY for an OMF 007 Seamaster Bond 50th, at the time of the order I was informed the watch (which was a special was still available, but too late for ship/completion before CNY.
I made the payment for the watch fully expecting that the watch probably would not be here before April.
Right after CNY ended TT sent me an email noting that the watch was no longer available; could I select another watch. Well, I kind of had my head set on that watch, so I selected another variant OMF only to discover that watch was unavailable as well.
After a few emails my impression was that NONE of variants, OMF or VSF were available/in stock, and I wasn't interested in the NTTD Seamaster or other variants so we began discussing a refund.
Around the same time two things happened: I chimed in on a thread here where a member had an issue with a failed buy and expressed quite a bit of frustration and I reached out to two other trusted dealers that I had not bought from before.
With the former, there appeared to be a lot of miscommunication as to what was being asked. Being frustrated only makes that worse for everyone involved; my reply on that thread can be found.
With the latter, both TD's came back telling me that the VSF variant of the watch I wanted was in stock with them which made me a bit confused.
I contacted Andrew and co. informing them of availability via other TDs, as at that point I realized, maybe there was a misunderstanding as to what I was asking about variants and the refund. Also, since I'd bought from TT (YEARS ago to be fair) before I'd rather make the sale with them than potentially have an less than optimal outcome.
TT got back to me rather shortly, clarifying that the VSF could be had. There was a price difference so after that was taken care of via bitcoin Don't get me started on fee adjustments with BTC delaying the receipt of funds.
VERY QUICKLY after that exchange, I had the QC pics. The watch absolutely was promising. I confirmed the photos and a few days later it was in the mail securely shipped with tracking provided. It arrived yesterday in discreet yet secure packaging and is better looking than I expected. The QC pics did not do it justice.
Thanks a TON to Andrew for getting it done fast (I was NOT expecting things to go that quickly) and working through what undoubtedly was MY (mis) communication. Looking forward to my next buy!
To you folks who do run into difficulty: Do your best to work through that with TDs. Sometimes you're dealing with the interpretation of what you're asking. They are trying to give you what you asked for and whatever you do, make sure your due diligence is done in understanding what you are buying.
Thanks again TT guys! FANTASTIC watch.
