The crown appears to be sitting too far from the case...

Good timing for the last batch of Swiss 6497 swan neck movement...Congrats....

The crown is sitting a little far from the case, but fixing flaws like that are asking a bit too much, IMO. How far away from the case the crown sits is also a function of the size of the CG and CG lever. If he moved the crown closer to the case (by shortening the stem) the lever would likely no longer make contact with the crown. This is also not good. To do it right, you'd need to shorten the stem to move the crown closer to the watch case AND sand down the "feet" of the crown guard to move that assembly closer to the case as well.

DSN would likely swap out the whole case set. There's no telling if the next one will be better, though. Good luck.

You got a keeper there. I got one ( I got lucky) where the crown was thick like the gen and the distance from the case wat perfect. The L Swiss L is the only tell tale to me anyway. Mine is 6 months old and gets regular wear for my evenings out.

Itseme, the pics show two diferent models, I'm sure you picked this fact already, but just for others that haven't...

First watch (111H) is cased in a standard Pam rep case, the second (112H) comes in 'DSN' case set. They are two different case stayles, and both have their advantages. I don't think you'd be dissapointed if you get either.

cheers,

Well, the problem that you would run into there, is that if Ruby has the factory use a shorter stem (which would move the crown closer to the case), you would likely end up with the crown guard lever applying less pressure to the crown in the closed position. This *could* result in the dreaded "floppy lever" syndrome. Then you would be forced to sand down the "feet" of the CG to regain the correct spacing between the crown and crown guard.

THEN, if you upgrade the crown to a thicker one down the road, you (or your watchmaker) will have to go through this whole process again.

Things to think about...

My $.02 is to leave as it comes if it's working. Get Ruby or DSN to get it as close as possible to look gen and just wind it and wear it.

My DSN works just fine since I got it. I see his dial there has the LSWISS L lower and not touching the 6. That's the only gripe about mine i have
