Just received a beautiful PAM176 from PT. The watch is adorable! I wanted to fit a Jose Marie strap and removed the lugs, which went out easy. When I wanted to fit them again, they didnt go in anymore?

Is there a tool to cut the screw thread again?

Any tips?

Thank you.....

Switch the bars to the other sides.. Maybe you swapped them from lugs and there was an issue? No idea.

Just hope you didn't strip them. Buy some panerai spring bars from Panatime.

Hi JMM
Since the 176 is made of Titanium and it is softer than steel of the screw. I'm afraid you have damage the thread of the case lugs. In this case no solution
Therefore you would need to use spring bars instead of lug screws.

Use the spring bars that look like the screws. Better anyway if you swap straps a lot.

Springbars are awesome!

+100 on this, I have various pams and once i get them from our tds i change out the lugs with panatime springbars, as i always change the straps on my pams.

You can't go wrong with those springbars.

So - I could manage to put those bars in again. It was a bit rough but they did it with some strenght. The Puretime Team was right away offering help and some spare bars.

Anyway - I think I will go for the spring bars which are looking like screws. I have a dozen PAM Reps, but I never faced this problem!

Thank you for you help guys - much appreciate to talk to some experts!!!

As above said I think it is not a problem of lug-screws is a problem in the threaded lug of the soft Ti case.
Therefore, best solution the special spring-bars. Go ahead

Questions: do the spring bars ruin the lug threads when installed? Can threaded lug screws be installed later if one wishes to switch back to screws or are the threads compromised and spring bars must continue to be used?

Over time it can ruin the threads. Especially if it's titanium. But if they are already stripped then you have nothing to lose
