Really not a fan of the new Noob double sided AR

I was literally about to pull the trigger on a new Noob 111M and I start reading about how easily the top layer of AR scratches on their new "transparent AR". Why did Noob have to change that, they ruined it. Now I can't buy it, and I can't buy an H-factory one because they suck worse.

So now I don't know what I'm going to do. It seems the old version with the AR just on the inside isn't available. I sent an email to Angus but Andrew said the old ones are gone. I guess I have to start looking at something other than Pam, what a let down.

Can anybody with the double are noobs chime in? I've only seen one thread talking about the top layer being easily scratched yet several threads of folks saying how happy they are.

Op I have a skunks ar coming my way. Will let you know now it goes

I just got 2 noob 111M in today. One had the old crystal while the other had the double AR. I'll tell you right off the bat that the AR is NOT colorless. It has green and purple tint. I just spent the last hour polishing off the AR. Its not as easy as using a cape cod, had to use a rotary polisher to get the job done. The AR layer seems pretty tough, but it attracts finger prints. Even with the outer layer of AR removed, you can still see green tint because of the underside of the crystal. I would rather much have the single AR on the older noobs over the new double AR any day!

The double AR on my 088 seems to be pretty hardy..I've scratched it a couple of times but none stayed..they were easily removed by wiping it with a cloth..

As for colour, its really clear AR on mine as well..

It does attract dust&fingerprints pretty easily tho.. But I'm overall very happy with it..

Also pretty happy with the double AR on my 104i , seems to hold nicely

104 and 088 are from H-factory and aren't supposed to have double sided AR, correct me if I'm wrong.
I have a Noob 005M and a 029M with the double AR and if you take care, the outside coating is not as easily scratchable as you may think.
I also have a Skyland Avenger V3 and in this one the outside AR coating gets scratches even with looking at it, he, he !!
The Noob AR is stronger and better applied. I actually like it.

Noobs with double AR seem pretty colorless and hardy to me
Can always buff it off with dremel if it gets bad, and then you'll have gen like AR.

the AR on the 237 "Ghost" & 088 are definately Double ARed but not too sure about the 104.. there have been afew reviews which reflect this detail across all boards..

but as i mentioned..its superbly clear & really hardy..

My PAM 111 Noob= OK, very good colourless AR, no scratches

I have the latest noob PAM 029, it's a damn fine replica, however the double AR is not accurate to the genuine, so I removed it in a few minutes with my dremel and some soft polishing compound, easy as pie, and it now looks so much better!

The AR on the underside is green/purple, but hardly even detectable unless you stare from a few inches away while turning the watch face this way and that, it's one of the best crystals I have seen on a watch

I have a Noob 005M here with double sided AR. I was told the 005 didn't have the double AR yet at the time of purchase, but it is colorless and it does scratch! It's not a huge deal but it's definitely noticeable in the right light.

hi - i have one of the first ds ar from noob on a pam111m - i spent a while after ordering worrying about the scratching of the outer layer and havnt managed to root it yet (daily wear 6 months including changing my m3 exhaust, building a gate, work and play). the case has a few scratches, even on the edge of the crystal, but the ar coating is perfect. it does show purple/green when its dirty and wet, but cleans off a dream. I had the dremel ready to go, but honestly dont stress - its fine
