Now on all the forums I have been one, I start a thread of "random pictures" These are just pictures we take of anything
which we see and want to let the world know about.
There are a few rules
1 you must have taken the picture , no downloading from online please.
2 If you did not take the picture then try to be in the picture.
3 Please folks, no pictures of watch's. Think we have enough of them on here :ROFLMAO:
Simple
We will start off with a few of mine.
Title is
Cranes in the mist.

There are new dock side cranes coming into Felixstowe Dock UK, from the factory in China. This is how they are shipped around the world
I would not like to be on that boat in a storm with that load up high.

No kidding, you have to have calm seas or iron balls or both to transport these. I can only imagine the ballast tanks on this ship are working overtime. Beautiful photos mate.

I used to enjoy rebuilding automatic transmissions, it’s a bit like watchmaking on a larger scale…Torqueflites are may favourite.

I've rebuild loads, but not car ones. My old job was mobile forklift technician and did many over the years. Biggest one was a Caterpillar 40 ton top lifter. The box weighed over 1.5 tons

Biggest one I ever did was the local Council dustbin lorries, 6 speed Allison tranny, their workshops fitters would pull 'em out and drop the trannies to me, I had to use my engine crane to lift the bastards on the bench 🤣

Definitely a 50's Caddy yes, but I can't remember now, that was way back in my mid thirties, so 27 ish years ago.

I built transmissions for a local Custom Car Builder Guy Burnham Auto's, and his customers, Drag Racers, Foskers Ferrari, main dealers and after market local garages on run of the mill cars too.
I once had a genuine Shelby Cobra 427 import in, a local guy did track days and road use with it ;)

I have had some insanely fast weapons myself, but after driving that I know exactly why they call them "the widow maker", not mega fast in comparison to Lambos and Enzos but very very light on the ass end

Here's a couple of my old toys, the bike was bought brand new and modified by me, "Foo Monk" at Ashford Powerhouse tuned it on the rolling road and got 103 BHP at the back wheel :)

The Firebird was also modded and tuned by me, that was putting out over 800BHP on the rollers, Supercharged LT1 vette motor in it.
The bike was very fast off the mark and hit over 215 mph probably with a little more to go, but I am pretty sure the 'bird was quicker outright top end ;)

One of my little play things from the early 2000s. That's me in the cherry picker changing a light bulb.

I built this up and then did a PDI on it. Did the service and repairs for years and then dismantled to ship to another site.

And put it back together again. Till some idiot turned it over and was a write off. And yes my overalls were a bit dirty in the picture

Built up 3 of these for Felixstowe Docks over 2 weeks. And one gearbox went down as we were doing the PDI on it.
Had one shipped overnight from Holland.

They pick up the empty shipping containers, 2 at a time. And its bloody scary driving them like that.
Most of the company's just do single lifts now .
