Radiomir vs. Luminor

Ok, I just warmed up to the TD situation and just received an old unused stock 309 and Kostas strap:

I know the 309 selection might bring some heat but it was a decent price. I love Ti and prefer the Radiomir case and strap bars.

I noticed that PAM collectors don't seem to like the Radiomir and it makes up a small portion of the collections I've seen if there are any at all.

Is there a reason for this? As I gain experience, should I expect to transition into favoring the Luminor?

Right now they look to chunky to me and the crown guard looks like it wouldn't hold up over the long haul.

I'm eyeing the 288k, 272j, and 380 (latter 2 ceramic).

Thanks for any input!

in my mind, radiomirs are always sort of the lesser watch compared to luminors. luminors seem at least to me the evolution from the radiomir. dont get me started about losing the screws on the radiomirs. im not sure what are ya talking about in terms of the CG. it'll work fine for years ahead. besides, i dont see myself wearing this noob fac watch in the next 5 years, i mean its a rep anyway

I don't agree with you. Paneristi like a lot Radiomirs, even more than Luminor, it is more pure PANERAI spirit.
What happens is that there are much more good LUMINOR replicas than Radiomir ones.

Nowadays, makers are working hard in Radiomirs and we will see many good releases soon.

PAM collectors covet Rads as much as Luminors.

It makes me happy to read this. I've been a huge fan of Rads ever since trying them on years ago. Even though they are a mill bigger than most Luminors they fit so nicely on a 7" wrist.

Prior to finding reps I'd never consider was owning a Gen Rad. When having to narrow it down I liked the Luminors for their versatility. Now that we have discovered reps and with your news of promising releases it looks like I'll get to own one or two.

If you like Radiomirs, have a look on the Homage Forum as it seems they're a lot more popular with the guys who like vintage PAMs. You'll recognise many of the members and many of the watches that get built over there are simply stunning!

Mods: Please delete if I shouldn't be mentioning other forums, I didn't put a link but hope the name is ok?

Love how it looks, the crown just digs into my wrist, poor design in my opinion.
