Really? I thought by the time you added up a Swiss movement, sapphire for 47mm with ar treatment, a good case, vintage lume, waterproofing, labor etc you hit close to a grand.

Vintage rads have plexis. The money for a Swiss movement just simply isn't worth it. An A6497 is a rock solid movement.

rsea, a trusted dealer here can build you a fine watch for less than $500.

I got this head from him for less than $300. Only thing I did to it was solder the lugs and stem and put on a strap.
