EVALUATION: LOW-GRADE REP
Panerai introduced at the 2011 SIHH three impressive Radiomir 47mm watches based in vintage models made in the late 1930’s, they were PAM 376-379 and 373. For each model only changes the precious material of the case-bezel and the vintage like dial type.
PAM 376 made of White Gold with California dial (striking "art deco" like dial showing an unusual combination of Roman and Arabic numerals)
PAM 379 made of Rose Gold with 12-3-6-9 numerals and sticks Sandwich dial
PAM 373 made of Platinum with the old sticks–dot dial of first 2533 vintage Panerai prototypes.
Three watches have Polished Radiomir 47mm case, Brown dial with Gold “double-pencil†shape hands (the hands are pointed on both sides), Display caseback, manual winding 3 days Power Reserve Panerai P.3000 movement, detachable lugs, and Plexi crystal 2,8mm.
The PAM 379 is inspired on the vintage 3646 of the year 1938. There's a picture and information of this watch in the reference section on paneristi.com.
The gen PAM 379 is a Unique Edition of 299 Pieces. Also released as part of a limited edition box set released by Panerai in 2011 consisting of the 373, 376 and 379 producted in a limited edition of 11.
Unfortunately, the gen PAM 379 is a watch hard to copy due to its complicated movement P.3000 with a display caseback and the characteristics of its dial. Moreover, the gen is made of Rose Gold and the rep, obviously, of RG plated SS, with a difference of weight. The gen Crystal is thicker than the rep one. The hands have different shape, etc…. In general this is not at all an accurate replica and it is not an advisable purchase.
