Thanks Moggio, it makes me want to buy one and I probably will. When this and the Radiomir 232 came out I had a time of it deciding between the two and went for the 232, but that 249 has still been calling me. The issue with both of these watches though is the lugs. They need to be more tapered to the watch and I am still looking for someone who can redo the lugs on mine.

Gorgeous Photos!

But what A B.S. article!!!
Historical incorrect!

My God, "You won't go unoticed with such A historical timepiece"!?
Guys & Girls This watch has very little in common with the original 3646 made by Rolex in 1938! (Not 1936 that was the year the Radiomir Prototype 2533 was made)

The Artical suggest that the buyer will posses for the "Cheap" sum of 4700 Euros!? A re-edition of the original 1936(!) watch made specially for the 1st Submersible Frogmen group (10th Flotilla I would say!) by Panerai (Allmost correct it is ROLEX who made the Case, Movement and Dial in this case!)
The modern Richmontgroup who produced this modern 'Tribute' has nothing incomon with the original 1860 Panerai Familly business, yhat heritage ended in the 1980's when their biggest client Italian Navy cancelled the products made by Panerai, due to budgetary reasons.
That the Radiomir lume (The biggest succes to the company invented by A Navy Officer that was A businesspartner for a short period) gave the name to the historical divers watch (1st purpose produced Divers watch) Is A nice sugestion but again for the Rolex 'Oyster'/'California' Dial incorrect.
The contribution of the Panerai Familly was their liason to the Italian Navy! and the enhanced Sandwich dial with Radiomir lume introduced in 1939.
Rolex A Brithish Company didn't want to openly suply the the Faschist Italian and Nazi Third Reich German Navy's, But they did through the Panerai liason. Suporting the biggest blows against The British Navy in the Med! (They also suplied the timers used in Italian Torpedoes!)

The PAM249 California Dial Has incorrect: Body, Bezel, Movement, Strap&Buckle , Strap Attachments, Dial text (Lswiss madeL) and ingravings like serial numbers '1936' '30m'
So what is simmular?;
The Diameter and heigth of the watch, The Plexi Crystal material and the shape looks very good to me, the Inlayed lume looks nice the Blued Historical Hands are the best Replicas featured on this tribute!

Well I must say that is A much more interesting History, wouldn't you say? But for some (Moral??) reason this comercial site and the Modern Richmont group/ Panerai are silent about these facts.
Hiding facts away from history is A Dangerous game!

I do own A Rep on the California PAM249, And it Does go unoticed most of the times, the people that Do notice It usualy becuase of it's size are usally not impressed, they think it is ugly!

I wouldn't be suprised to find A site one of these days Offering A Waffen-SS Dagger with the historical story on it's 15th century heritage origins as A Swiss Pikemen Dagger, telling you this is your unique chance to own A re-edition of that medieval Dagger!

Davidsen's one has the hands the wrong shape. One would have buy Josh's offering and swap the hands for an "almost perfect" one. Too rich for me. I prefer to wait for David San to make the hands right... or I will get it with gold MM hands. Oh, and great article.

Also, aren't the hour markers recessed a little on the gen? I don't think any of the rep's are.

I'm waiting for a local AD to get one of these in so I can see one first-hand. :)
