Good day gents.
Is the little metal tubular piece that connects the two pegs inside the end of the strap important?
Ask because every time I change straps I have a hard time getting it out of the end of the strap so any times have installed a new strap without them.

Define important.

I would say that a well made strap should have no problem with only the L-shaped lugs holding it.

The strap won't come off. The little tube is meant to give the construction more stability. One is missing on one of my radiomirs and i never had an issue. But i will always have to advise to use some loctite(light) on the screws that hold the lug bars.
