I have a noob 111 v3 and while known to be louder, I was hoping could quiet it down some :). This is my first attempt and really do anything to a watch so apologies upfront lol. I bought 9010 and D5 and followed the steps in the below thread, or at least I think I did, and still as loud as before. The inside looks different on the 111 than the pics in the below thread so not sure I oiled up the rotor etc correctly. Any tips or guidance would be appreciated, thanks.

Your 111 has a rotor?
6497 is a pocket watch movement so it will be louder than other.

You need to put some pics up of your watch. 111 is a hand wind a6497. It does not have a rotor, and the only noise it should make is a nice soft ticking sound.

Having said that if you have a auto pam with a rotor, yes they will make a whirling sound when the rotor spins. The watch can actually "shudder" if the rotor is spun quickly.

Quick answer is no. Makes me wonder where you put the oil?

The ticking is part of the charm of a 6497 movement. Enjoy it.
