Quick review of Black Bay!

Hello fellow nerds!
I just got my Tudor Black Bay Black "best edition" from Ryan/ Intime.
Boy am I a happy phucka!
These are my impressions, followed by pictures. (Will add more detailed pics tomorrow)

The watch is perfect in size and dimension as far as I can tell. My sample showed +1s/d on Ryan's timegraph before shipping. I set it to my iPhone and it is keeping identical time for the last hour now!
The crown screws down TIGHT and going through the positions is almost as smooth as on my BK Sub.
Also, it winds like butter (thanks ETA/ Asian ETA).
The bezel has full 60 clicks with the SLIGHTEST of wobble. Not really loose feeling but tends to slide a smidge too far after a full commanding click. Gentler hands can ease into dead center with a more careful bezel click, however.
Hands look good and has smooth sweep.
All hour indices are correct and have paint/lume applied perfectly.
(Either I got the best sample from the factory EVER, or they're just that good).
Red triangle on bezel is great shade of red like the gen. Seems to be near identical, although I believe the gen may be painted in to a deeper setting in the aluminum.
Only give away is the rose on the dial is half filled in.
Stay away from watch nerds with loops, or high resolution photo apps and you'll never get called out.
It's even hefty like the gen (with no bracelet on!) I.e. Mine is on Nato and still heavy.

very very nice!!
I do ask because I've never handled a gen before, but is there meant to be a "first" position that does nothing? On my rep there's a first position which I assume is meant to be for the date part of the movement, if it had one, and you go the the second position to change the time.
Is the newest version similar?

It's the same and I believe that is because it is just an ETA 2824.
I still need to handle a gen but it would be the same unless Tudor modified the crown positioning son the base ETA movement they put in the watch.
I know they modify it but not sure how much

I agree! It goes back to what Rolex and Tudor originally were. An unabashed tool watch that made the wearer feel like a bad mofo who can accomplish anything.
At least that's how I feel right now

Agreed. I wish gen dials were more accessible. I would change out dials in a heartbeat. Forgot to mention the gilt & sandpaper effect across the dial is non existent in this in door light. I'll see if it shows better tomorrow in the day light

The gen will only have a winding position and a time setting position. The date setting position will have been removed. The rep makers don't bother to do that

They are nice aren't they.

I have the Red and Blue bezeled versions and did have "The One" as well but sold it on as I found the straight hands a touch underwhelming.

Enjoy your BBB.
