Hey everyone, happy to be a new member of this community. I'm excited to get involved.
I've read all the beginner stickies so I have a decent grasp of what to expect, but I just had a few questions if anyone happens to know. I placed an order on a TD's website from this forum (will not say, I'm sure it's not their fault). I opted to pay with bitcoin. The order confirmation page said I would be sent a wallet address to send my payment to within 24 hours, but I have not seen it yet. Checked spam and all of that. Don't worry, I get it, I have no problems being patient. Please understand that I am NOT complaining or flaming, I'm just very excited to give this all a try. I want to ensure that I'm not doing anything wrong on my end is all. There are so many pieces that I have wanted in my collection forever that I had just resigned myself to never having, so I'm thrilled just to have a close approximation to look at and wear. Anyway, here are my noob questions:
1) Given National China Day is celebrated from Oct 1-7, should I just expect that pretty much all TD's won't be operating until Monday? That's totally fine they deserve their holiday and all, I just want to know what to expect as a consumer. Do TD's generally take this week off or at a reduced capacity?
2) Is the process of placing an order on a website and being emailed a bitcoin address pretty standard? I'm 100% sure I used the correct link. I mean, if it was a scammer there's no way they would take any time at all to take my money, holiday or not. And if this is standard, is it generally wise to only pay like $1 first and confirm receipt from the TD before sending the full amount? I'm sure this is more work for them, but I would feel better knowing for sure the btc is going to the right place.
Thanks everyone, glad to be here.
And by the way, if anyone has any personal recs for their favorite factory/TD/version/etc for these watches, they're on my list. Not interested in M2M at the moment so don't bother asking, strictly TDs from this site. I'm interested in high quality, as close to 1:1 as anyone is making. I've seen the recommendation threads and docs so I have a decent idea of what I'm looking for, but any wisdom for someone still fairly new to this hobby would be appreciated. Thanks!
