Hey everyone, happy to be a new member of this community. I'm excited to get involved.

I've read all the beginner stickies so I have a decent grasp of what to expect, but I just had a few questions if anyone happens to know. I placed an order on a TD's website from this forum (will not say, I'm sure it's not their fault). I opted to pay with bitcoin. The order confirmation page said I would be sent a wallet address to send my payment to within 24 hours, but I have not seen it yet. Checked spam and all of that. Don't worry, I get it, I have no problems being patient. Please understand that I am NOT complaining or flaming, I'm just very excited to give this all a try. I want to ensure that I'm not doing anything wrong on my end is all. There are so many pieces that I have wanted in my collection forever that I had just resigned myself to never having, so I'm thrilled just to have a close approximation to look at and wear. Anyway, here are my noob questions:

1) Given National China Day is celebrated from Oct 1-7, should I just expect that pretty much all TD's won't be operating until Monday? That's totally fine they deserve their holiday and all, I just want to know what to expect as a consumer. Do TD's generally take this week off or at a reduced capacity?

2) Is the process of placing an order on a website and being emailed a bitcoin address pretty standard? I'm 100% sure I used the correct link. I mean, if it was a scammer there's no way they would take any time at all to take my money, holiday or not. And if this is standard, is it generally wise to only pay like $1 first and confirm receipt from the TD before sending the full amount? I'm sure this is more work for them, but I would feel better knowing for sure the btc is going to the right place.

Thanks everyone, glad to be here.

And by the way, if anyone has any personal recs for their favorite factory/TD/version/etc for these watches, they're on my list. Not interested in M2M at the moment so don't bother asking, strictly TDs from this site. I'm interested in high quality, as close to 1:1 as anyone is making. I've seen the recommendation threads and docs so I have a decent idea of what I'm looking for, but any wisdom for someone still fairly new to this hobby would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi and welcome to RWI! Glad you found your way here.

Please take some time to read the sticky threads in the new members area (all subsections), learn the basic forum rules and get some very good advice in the process. A number of questions has already been answered there, this is just an example:

As a new subscriber, you've already been directed to this thread, please read carefully and look through the linked additional threads:

Another good thread to read to understand where RWI comes from and some fundamentals is this:

Most of the information you need to know to start is there. If you're preparing to buy, read the stickies before ordering. When you're finished, you can continue learning by reading the stickies in all remaining sections. If it's stickied, it's important information.

If you intend to sell, read the sales rules and all stickies in the sales section with particular care and make sure you understand each single rule. Sales rules infraction is taken very seriously here. As a new member you are not eligible to sell. Using the sales section is a privilege, eligibility must be earned, make sure you know and understand how.

For anything else, feel free to reach out to @eBoy or me, we're happy to assist, advise, direct, explain. Don't hesitate.

Don't be afraid to post noob questions in the new members area. In doubt, use the flame free zone. If you feel uncomfortable anywhere in the new members area, please reach out to @eBoy or me. Mutual respect is of utmost importance to us. On the other hand, we're grown-ups and are supposed to be able to deal with a bit of irony, don't take it personally, ever, a bit of irony never harmed anyone. If you laugh at jokes, you'll make friends faster.

This forum is a treasure trove of information and benefits from the engagement of all members who take their time to share their knowledge, help each other out and have some fun. We hope that you'll benefit and enjoy this platform as well as contribute positively to it.

If at any point you feel to contribute also on another level, feel free to pm the boss (trailboss99) to become a supporter and get some little perks with the status (editing rights, for example).

Enjoy the forum.

To your questions:
1) yes
2) no idea, if you have doubts, email the TD with your order number and ask him to confirm instructions

Tudor Black Bay - ZF
Rolex DayDate - GMF
Rolex DateJust - VSF or clean
Cartier Santos - dunno
Omega Seamoster - probably VSF
Omega Aquaterra - VSF
Breguet Classique/Tradition lines - no idea
Glashutte Original SeaQ (Have seen very little about reps of this one) - no idea, don't think there's many options and those I saw were very nice

That's a helluva of a head start, do your reading before making a final choice.

Thank you so much for the quick answers, I really appreciate it. I'll just see if I get anything from him this upcoming week, I'm sure they will all be busy after a holiday. Just didn't want the TD to think I'm a tire kicker or getting cold feet if I'm doing something wrong. They have my info, surely they can get a hold of me when they're ready

It's a shame there's not many options on the SeaQ. I feel like German watches are class but they don't seem to get nearly the same amount of attention as the Swiss brands. Oh well, plenty of Swiss I'd like to get, and take some time to feel out the German rep market.

Thanks again!

I think the RXWF Spezialist was pretty good. If you don't find it on TD sites, just ask them via email.

Amazing, that's exactly what I needed to know! Lots to look through here. The pics that other users have posted from RXWF look stunning. Wonder if it feels as good in the hand and on the wrist.
