Hi guys,

looking at my beloved BB 58 39 mm by ZF I have the impression that the gold numbers on the insert have faded a little bit. They look clearer, the watch is 1 year old, maybe it's just my idea but I'm thinking about buying a new one.

Why not look for a gen insert. Sweet watch.

I considered the idea but depends on the cost, a gen dial would be great too, since the markers are warmer than the ZF's ones, the biggest but not so disturbing tell on this version. However, it's strange that the rep insert gold faded, by that's what it looks like.

That's interesting, looks a bit faded indeed. I have the blue version which shows no fading though, hard to compare them because of the different colors I know

I would be curious to know if anybody else experienced this issue as well on the black dial insert. I don’t think this issue has been reported before.

In sunlight it still looks gold but in other lights it's way too silver, like the 41 mm. That's strange because I have never taken shower o went swimming, just worn normally.

Where can I buy one? Sead doesn't answer me, I usually buy spare parts from him.

I have seen a few people have this issue with the gen BB58 too. I bought a gen insert for the ZF 58 I have on the way. We'll see if it ends up fading too. I honestly prefer silver markers so I personally dont mind it.

I agree and was thinking about a gen insert, too. How much did you pay it? Can you post a picture when you receive the insert? Thanks!

Man, I remember way back when the very first iteration of the ceramic Planet Ocean came out. I bought one for myself and one for my father. After a year, the printing on both of our bezels were almost completely worn away. If it's your favorite watch I would definitely look into a gen bezel.

all in, with international shipping, tax etc, I believe I payed $230ish USD, thats with the lume pip though. It was the only one I could find online with the pip. I have seen a few inserts alone on eBay and Chrono24 for the $130-$150 ballpark. The pip on the watch in my QC pics is off center from what I can tell, and the ZF pip is flawed compared to gen anyways, so it was a two birds with one stone thing for me. I have the insert but the watch is yet to arrive. Once it comes in I'll be sure to post side by side pictures here comparing the two though.

What I find weird is that the insert seems to come in the blister with the pip already attached, so I dont understand why a majority of inserts I saw for sale didnt have it.

For reference the dimensions of the BB58 insert are 37.5mm outer and 31mm inner diameter.
