i'm not sure what the correct name for it is, but i'm asking about the guard that surrounds the stem. (AHAH I THINK IT CALLED THE CROWNGUARD....) i've only seen one rep and one gen panetai and they were the same model and owned by the same person. on the rep the lever that locks the guard from opening was noticably shakey and loosey goosey where the gen wasn't. honestly, that whole assembly was kind of mickey mouse on the rep he had from the screw to hold it on to the way it worked. he told me the rep was several years old but he didn't wear it much

is this a problem with all reps or do better ones have this problem fixed? the answer to this question may be as simple as the better the quality rep the better quality of the rep. i'm buying watches for my sons for Christmas and the one expressed he might like a panerai and i know next to nothing about them. i tried to find out on the search some answers to this but didn't have any luck.

anyone who could give me a quick answer i'd be appreciative. sorry for such untechnical of what that guard is called....

thanks

les

No doubt one of the paneristi will be along soon to give you a definitive answer but I have never heard recent complaints about this issue so hopefully it's fixed long time.
