im considering buying this

177 homage, 44mm. but I will admit my wrists arent big, theyre quite small. Ive not seen many pams in real life and they all had metal bands. So I am unfamiliar on how a leather or other band would be on small wrists. Any comparisons to rolex models would be appreciated since I know how those fit on my wrists well.
thanks for looking

My 6.75" wrists + 44mm PAMs + 47mm PAMs + 46mm B&Rs = all good ;) :D

Well 44mm Panerai' are the perfect size if you want to move up to a bigger watch from a Rolex. Many popular brands have settled on the 44mm size as a new benchmark for current production (AP 'benchmark is 42mm, and Breitling is 43mm) Basically it is all personal preference, but most guys can comfortably pull off wearing a 44mm watch and with a cool leather strap have it look very good. Guys like me who like the size of larger watches from 46mm (Big Bang King) to 49mm (Larger Breitlings) can find 44mm watches almost too small. So go figure. IMO, with the commonality of Rolex watches everywhere, you will get more attention with a larger watch from another brand. Plus that is what this hobby is all about, trying different types of brands.

For me it's also how you carry it-- I usually wear it with long sleeved shirt:

Funny this.....I have the opposite problem. 44mm is my ideal size and I'm wondering if I can pull a Rolex off.

i'm bigger. like 6/2 and about 210lbs. and i like the small rolex as much as a 47mm pam. i think a lot of the old rules are out. women are wearing dssd's. so if i want to wear a 39mm watch it's up to me. it does feel smaller but if you like it, wear it ;)

You're one inch taller than me, so who am I to disagree.

But, hell, you are right. Wear what you like and what feels comfortable. If we were all the same we wouldn't have this forum and the world would be a boring place to live in.

I agree 100% if you want to wear a grandfather clock on your wrist go for it. I love the look of the 177 but im not sure on the size. Ill buy it anyways and either it grows or its sold.

honestly the 44mm pam is a great watch size for me. i never knew about them until recently. in many ways they got me back in to watches; "fake" watches anyway. i don't know if i could lay down thousands of dollars for a gen anymore.

the pam is just so appealing. everyone should have one ;)
