noob here. warning.

I recently dove straight into the rep hobby... and along the way I got into servicing/oiling my movements. I ordered the correct Moebius oils/tools, etc... did my research, and have since successfully serviced/repaired three A6497 movements at the expense of serious eye-strain and hours looking on the floor for lost springs/incabloc jewels. I understand this is only an entry level movement.

....I recently ordered my first rep automatic, a PAM 382 VSF, and would like to service it myself if possible.

I have been scouring the internet for information about how to service the custom-made A7750 (P.9000), but to no avail.

Does anybody have info how to service the movement? How does the 7750 compare to a 6497 in difficulty when it comes to servicing?

Help greatly appreciated.

You're jumping WAY into the deep end. That movement has many parts incompatible with its Swiss counterpart, not to mention a much higher level of complexity given it's a chronograph. If you lose/break something it could be terminal. I've personally not done any A7750 myself for that very reason so I don't have any direct advice other than to say "good luck." :)

I've read exactly what your saying quite a few times too mate.
I still want to learn how they work/service them BUT there's no way I'd touch my own collection at the moment.
I've got some 7750 & 6497 movements that I'm going to practice on.Im no way confident enough or do I possess the skills/experience enough to tackle my own collection.
Cheers for the heads up about their complexities though mate.[emoji106]

This is what it looks like...
https://forum.replica-watch.info/threads/pcteam-review-pam671-bronzo-xf-v2.387070/#post-3588005

10 x more complicated than a 6497... took me a dozen of "dead" 7750's to understand the geometry how everything flows and fits together

Yea! I saw this thread the other day, excellent information as always from @chris3007 and best info on RWI about the new movement. However the post does not show us how to build the movement.

After watching a few youtube videos of standard 7750 builds, it doesn't seem much more complicated as long as patience is used. I am probably wrong...

Can anyone please explain the pitfalls of servicing the watch new rep 'P.9000' A7750 or the standard 7750? Where are the trouble areas?

@Tickleshoes The rep PAM 382 VSF should be 'easier' than a standard a7750 because there is no chronograph, correct? PS. BRULE ROCKS #checkitout
@spankster23 do you remember the problem areas of servicing the 7750?

Maybe I'll practice on the Breitling my brother gave me before I touch the 382. ;)

I applaud your courage in attempting to rebuild a movement without having any formal training. I imagine it would not be easy (like what @spankster23 said, it took him 12 dead A7750 movements to learn most of it). Looking forward to your story of success. Maybe do a video or pictorial on how to rebuild the movement as something of that nature is not available currently. :)

Super cool @sogo. The V1 parts are interchangeable with the VSF? How many versions does VSF make of the P.9000 rep?

Haha. Thanks. Only a few people here "get" my avatar. The 382 still has all the chrono works in the back of the movement. The only difference is that the pinions for those hands are short and don't stick through the dial. Not any easier unfortunately.

I've done my gen LWO283 and it came out beautifully. But a junk A7750 completely disintegrated. I believe I got to a gear and pinion that went through a plate. Don't know if they were riveted together or I just couldn't get them apart but that was when I tossed it. The gen didn't even look like that.

Personally I like Mark's videos from Watch Repair Talk. Good luck!

Watch Repair Talk... best form of falling to sleep. My girlfriend loves to put his vids right after she sets the alarm clock. Surprisingly therapeutic. I'm a super fan of Mark...

@up_right the major differences (read difficulty) with a 7750 vs 6497, is seating the parts, and springs everywhere. With the 671/382 yes you lose the chrono functions which are a PIA. But you have the date wheel and components, and the auto bridge and components, The hacking mechanism /keyless works, and so forth. Practice makes perfect, and get your self some dead 7750's to practice. YOU WILL loose a part or two, inevitably.

Also good tools are a must for success.

Ok I am gonna take a quaalude/betablocker shake with some minimalistic meditative music on repeat and dig into the 382. Won't forget to put the AC on and put the cats in the bedroom before I start. Cats might starve by the time I finish....or maybe I will die of thirst. ;)

Still doing my research... This is a project for later this summer. I think I have all the tools. Anything necessary other than the tools used to service a 6497?

Anybody got any dead 7750's?
