Hi guys!!
I’m writing regarding the DD3285 movement. I recently purchased this one and so far I’m quite happy with it! Nevertheless, upon arrival I brought it to a local watchsmith to get it serviced and the guy basically told me he didn’t dare to dismantle it and get it fully serviced because he thought parts were made from aluminum and was afraid he would break something.
I’m sure the guy didn’t know what he was talking about, but this posed the question in my head: what are these movements made from? And gen movements? How prone are they to break compared to gen?
Thanks!!
Alejandro
