Question about quartz movement

Can anyone tell me if the quartz movement in the original Omega Seamaster is as fast as the same watch the Automatic movement in that watch model ?

if you mean the beat of the movement [ how many times the hour is divided ] then the mechanical watch is around 2800 or so and the quartz is in mega hertz , many many times more accurate a fine mechanical is like 2 sec/ 24 hrs . i have a rolex tribute dive watch [ quartz ] thats 2 sec a MONTH

My SMP 2824 is about 5 second fast a month... Your quartz must be defective

A quartz is the equivalent of a 3600vph movement (one click per second) and the SMP has a 28800vph movement (eight clicks a second).

i beg to differ !

" this artical also states that the quartz clock was thefirst timepiece to demonstrate that the rotation of the earth was NOT an accurate time standard . the mechanical watch was so inaccurate that it was totally incapable of demonstrateing this important fact

it is true that the quartz ocillator is is divided down to 1 tick of the second hand per sec but there are reasond for this, battery life . as far as a heart is concerned , how fast does yours beat?
lol mine is usially at 60 beats/ min , same as the tics of a quartz lol so which is souless ?
the quartz is no more souless than a mechanical clunker , i dont mind you prefering mechanical watches , [ i do ] but lets not try to glamourize them with anthromorphical bull shit !t
