Looking to buy a good replica. The closer to a real Pam the better (swiss movements, decorated/engraved movements, etc etc etc). Can anyone make a recommendation or two?

There is an awful lot of advice out there, at the top of the page there is a button that says SEARCH, use it...alot.

I would say more but anything I would say has been said many times before.

Recommendatation?... Davidsens new 111? it all depends on what panerai's you like, vintage, automatic, chrono etc etc

I'll bite, I don't feel like being a dick today. Davidsen has some of the closest PAM reps you'll find. However check on some of the other dealer site here they have nice ones also. And yes do use the search button because then you can see some of the comparisons between dealers and it touches on everything you stated in your post.

Welcome to RWI Japes.

You will also need to determine your budget.

Check out or trusted dealers and also keep an eye on the members 'for sale' thread.

There are many different Panerai styles, and it will be a matter of personal taste.

Dealers like Trusty Time and Perfect Clones have a large range of models on their site, you can review their range and start to narrow it down perhaps.

But use the search function here, these matters have been well discussed.

but again, no rep is 100% exact to gen

depends on your definition of 'close'

Take a 98% close rep for example.. some people just can't take the 2% diff.... they will have something to complain about

Also, if you are modding it, it will get even closer, but the curve is non linear... read: "it's gonna COST YA" ;)

For me the classic PAM is the 111H. If you don't want to spend time or money modding it buy it from Davidsen, wait until his new dial comes out. Then spend the extra money on a real nice custom leather strap of your choice (like HKTan, Manifatture Firenze).
This is just my humble opinion and everybody's different :D

You can't go wrong with the 111H (or the 177H) if you prefer Ti.....as to accuracy you need to personally assess your tolerance level. If you do search, you'll find endless discussions of the thickness and accuracy of the font, lume color, crown thickness, etc. All these "issues" can be dealt with at a cost. A 111H from a trusted dealer here will be 90+% accurate...you can spend the money improving the accuracy or you can buy some additional watches for you to put into rotation....

BTW, Davidsen is great! Also Eddie Lee is having a 10 days of Christmas sale with some nice pricing.....good luck and welcome! BTW, I'm wearing a nice 177H as I type this....

Good advice. Also, take a look at tcstraps.com (Elliot). I guess I am partial to MPs!
