question about pam 005

ok guys here is my question..

Im thinking in buying one 005 from david, but doing my reserch I notice that the 005 from other dealers has more acurate dial (Luminor Marina, Panerai), but I think that the 005 from david is great so,,,,,,,, if I bought a 005 from david can I switch the dial to other dial from another dealer??????

I use the serch tool but I dont find anything about this question....... I remember reading something that the dials from david are more big?????

I bought Josh 005 and love it. I have been told the font is better than Davids. However it doesnt have the superlume. What I did is bought the cheaper movement since it is a closed back anyway, and putting the money towards superluming it. Also it takes the SS bracelt that I wanted with the Pam. Can post pics later if you like.

And you are right the dials I believe do not fit, David is protectiong his art.

There are inconsistencies in both dials- Unless you're comparing side by side with a gen they look fine.

In my experience Davidsen cases are more authentic, as are his crystals- They feel right .

Any Sausage dial, when relumed will look less than 100%-

panerai silkscreens on the tritec- to relume a sausage dial it's done by hand- That's why the sadnwhich dials are sopopular- reluming them looks correct.

I think that I will buy a 005 from david, and if I want perfection I need to buy a 5000 dlls pam 005. :wink: :wink:

But just this days a have the doubt a 005 or 111h I dont know wich one, the 2 pams are great.

005, you have the logo and a nice Sausage dial, just a history watch from panerai.

111h, you have sandwich dial.... I love the sandwich dial and why not the watch has his history too.


so I dont know wich one..... for my first pam,,,,, I think I willl buy the 2 but I just dont to know wich one first...

you are right where I was. I went with the 005 becasue of the dial. It really stood out to me and others that know the logo. Now when I see a 111 though, I do like the sandwich dial. Next time right.

111H or 177H

If you're really picky (like I am), then get the sandwich dial'ed 111 or titanium 177. The OO5 is a great watch, but the sausage dial is hard to get right. It will not be 100%. With the sandwich dial, the lume will look perfect.

More importantly, get the best movement and have it calibrated. You don't want a watch that keeps poor time whether it costs $5K or $5. The 6497 movement can be done without hugely high cost. Make sure you have the sapphire crystal, and you can update the lume, the crown, and the strap.

I personally prefer the glass back and I love to see the inner workings of the watch. So for me, it's the 111, the 177 or the Fiddy.

So even though I'm a newbie, I want the closest watch possible to the GEN and the sandwich dial is it. My 2c of course even though I'm sure there are tons of happy 005 owners out there.

One of my first rep was a 005 from joshua. I'm always happy with it, but 2 things are really missing : superlum and recessed Pin. That why if i should buy an Pam today it will be probably from Davidsen cause apart the strap you don't have to do any upgrade.
