First post in the forum. Hope I found the correct spot to ask.

I purchased what was suppose to be a VSF Panarai 2232 with their P900 clone. However I suspect the movement is something else. I'm waiting on the correct caseback tool to confirm. But the rotor only winds in one direction, which is usually a sign of a super cheap movement. When you tap the watch against your other hand the rotor free spins. Grrrr. Apparently I need to order one from a better seller.

Does my assessment seem correct? Can anyone with a similar VSF watch/movement combo confirm?
Thanks

I'm waiting on the correct caseback tool to confirm.

Take a piece of duct tape, wad it up sticky side out and that should give you enough friction that you can unscrew the case back and look at the movement

I have a sticky ball but it was too tight. Maybe I'll try some double sided pattern tape on an aluminum die or hot glue. I have a big caseback press. Just no PAM dies that fit. hahaha

Well, let's see the photo of the movements first before we determine what this "crap" movement actually is. Otherwise right now from your end it's just pure speculation.

Like others have said the P900 is a unidirectional rotor.

Or, you have a broken automatic winding system in your P900 that is causing free spin, which is known to happen.

I took both examples, along with another model I've gotten and all three use the same uni-directional rotor and movement. I have several pictures of the movement and some other stuff, if I can figure out how to get photos on here....

same movement in all three. A few tiny drops of 9104 quiets it down slightly when it is free spinning in the non-winding direction

The bezel insert can easily be removed from the bezel without the bezel and spring being taken off. This also allows for the insert to be snapped on in any position if the PIP is not aligned at 12. The other models with steel bezels come off as one unit. And I wouldn't recommend taking it off due to the spring holding everything together. If the correct tool isn't used the spring will be rendered useless.

Backside of the insert. Technically I guess it is a shroud as it snaps around the other bezel components.

I tried to upload a video of the rotor free spinning in one direction, but it doesn't appear videos are supported.
