Smooth sweeping second hands, and quartz... Don't suppose these would make good movements for low end reps?

Citizen P112.10 movement 10 ligne quartz
Citizen P102.12 movement 12.5 ligne quartz

Both are used in the Bulova Precisionist line and have a 3 year battery life.
Anyone know if these movements are available for sale anywhere?

Smooth sweep quartz movements have appeared in some chrono models, but the movement you mention are probably too expensive to be worthwhile in regular reps - they're certainly not going to be any cheaper than a decent auto...

In what other watch is this movement used besides the Bulova?

Quartz in it's place?

I wouldn't mind buying some of the non-chrono quartz like the Aquaracer 500m and the Breitlings.

Provided the model is available as quartz in gen and has the higher end case it should make a great beater and the 'tick' is not going to be a tell.

I don't have a problem with quarz movements as such, just quartz pretending to be automatic.

If made available in reps, I know I would HAVE to have one ( or more ).....

I think these movements are currently only being used in the Bulova Precisionist, and I doubt that they would be easily available. I have one of these watches, and the sweep is amazing, truly excellent value for money. I for one would be thrilled to see one show up in a nice dress watch.

Bulova caught my eye..and now i need to have one! The sweep owns Seiko's spring-drive, certainly at that price..

This is the one I got, for maybe $150, it's worth getting one just for the movement.
