Yes, in the window of a Panerai AD, I saw a Panerai Quartz. It's a gen, too. Excuse the photos but my RAZR was the best camera I had on me.

It's on the bottom left of this picture:

I don't think so, as they had Quartz wall clocks before. This is just a nice toy.

If they ever put that design in a wrist watch, the shark is well and truly jumped, Fonzie-style.

Well, unless the Thommen Cricket movement has an additional complication of secondes mortes, it's Quartz. Yes, I saw it ticking and yes, it's a compromise of standards.

It's 100% certain it's Quartz. I saw it ticking off the seconds. You can actually see it in the third picture of yours slicing off a second.

The fact that there is a mechanical option to make the same device is near criminal in intent. This is worse than the FERRARI models, this thing says PANERAI on it. If it's ok to do this, what stops them from doing more models with robot innards?

Yes, the whole quartz thing just reviled me, and yet it's such a neat idea, hailing back to the Angelus 8-day travel clocks. Almost full circle.

Now, if you can get that Thommen in a Radiomir case ...
