Hello,

I've bought my first PAM from David, a 009 PVD (sorry, no photos, my son hide my camera and we can't find it).

Suberb watch, high quality, no flaws, excelent movement etc.

But I've made a few scratches in it, and I'd like to fix it, is there any way to do it so? or send to david?

Thanks in advance,

Max

no need to fix it, those scrates are one of the beuties of pvd except the matt black finish of course!
You have to remember that the last batch gen pvds where released a couple of years ago, I dont remember when excactly, so there is no way you would find a used, not stored in a watchbox or safebox!, without some minor AND major scratches in the pvd.

Ok, I agree with you!!!!!!

But, how big the scratches in a gen PVD can be? the problem is that I don't know how gen PVD scratch, and if mine is like gen or not.

If anyone got a PVD scratched to show I'll appreciate.

Thanks,

Max

I thought the gen PVDs are a bit shinier in finish?

But I'm positive that the GEN of this is limited edition--read: PRICEY. Last time I checked it's around 22,500 USD

If you look the look, and walk the walk, it will look real ;)

(No offense to college freshmens:)

If you're like me and have the "starving student" look ( I work FT already BTW ;) ) "They" won't buy it if you can afford a 22,500 USD watch... but who the heck is "THEY"? Well the paneristis of course. (Almost) The rest of the world don't even know what a Panerai is and be able to discern all the models...

Dvdsen watches looks HIGH QUALITY, and that's what laymen sees...

I betcha, show a typical joe schmoe a gen panerai: "Wow! big watch! Where'd ya get it from? Wal-mart? No? Oooh you got it from a dealer I see.. Lemme guess 300 dollars? no, it's 500 dollars!"

.... ;)

used gen on tz for sale @ 11,900.00. the finnish is the same as davidsen's. everybody is always complaining about the pin in the cg being recessed on davidsen's. mine came out of the box exactly like this one.

enjoy

HK45,
This Gen doesn't have scratches, I haven't seen it.
How I made this shiny finish? The Davidsen one is a little mate.
Thanks
Max

Ahh thanks HK45.. that clarifies the type of PVD coating they put there... :)

But hey, I never handled a gen w/ PVD so I can only gues from the pics

still that was an old ad on TZ.

I think now they sell around 20,000+ if you can find any..

Davidsen PVD 009

What I found is after some usage, a little polish and cleaning with my soft polishing cloth everyday, the PVD finishes is kind of becoming a little more shiny which is closer to the genuine look.

HK45,

Mine is exactly yours, thanks a lot, I'm more relaxed right now.

My PVD is this way, a little mate (not shine! is that correct?).

I love this watch, Davidsen is just suberb.

I show my watch in the dealer that sells Panerai here in São Paulo, a friend of mine have 2 gen, and they loved the watch, they say this is a gen, the unique problem is a little flaw in the dial that Davidsen will correct sending me another new dial (I love this guy, he is Pro).

Enzo,

I'd loved your post, mine is like this one, the scratches at your pic is almost like mine.

Conclusion, the scratches make the watch more gen.....

At Least, how I made the OXIDATION process??? I saw, one time in the forum, but doesn't bookmarked it.

Thanks again,
Max

I love my 195 & 202A also :) The 195 is having some spruce-ups (C3 ...), and has a new MF Vacceta that rocks - but I also like that contrast / the BOB vanille [smilie=thumbsup.gif]. Still waiting on camera repair + return  + :(

On the nicks & scratches: I like a few on mine, it shows that they're worn and not for show - and unless the gens are kept mint in the box they also get timeworn.
